Mornings in my house are never quiet. They start before I’m ready, usually with someone asking for breakfast while I’m still half asleep. One kid wants cereal, another suddenly hates cereal, and someone always spills something before 8 a.m. Shoes go missing. Backpacks aren’t packed. Someone can’t find their favorite hoodie and acts like the world is ending.
I move from the kitchen to the living room and back again, trying to keep everything moving. It feels like a race against the clock every single day. By the time we finally get out the door for school drop-off, I’m already exhausted. But once they’re in the car and we’re on the way, there’s this small moment where everything settles for a second. It’s chaotic, but it’s our normal.
