Mid-Morning Routine

After drop-off, the house feels completely different. It’s quieter, but not exactly calm. There’s still a mess left behind from the morning dishes in the sink, laundry that needs to be done, and toys that somehow made it into every room.

I start with one thing at a time. A load of laundry. Wiping down counters. Picking up what I can. Sometimes I try to take a few minutes for myself, even if it’s just sitting with a coffee before it gets cold. Those few minutes don’t last long, but they matter.

This part of the day isn’t exciting, but it’s real. It’s the behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything running, even if no one really notices it.
